A refuge between the lake and the volcano, a step from Frutillar and Puerto Varas

Ave Lodge is in Frutillar, a UNESCO Creative City of Music, in the heart of the Llanquihue Lake basin and a gateway to Chilean Patagonia: 45 minutes from Puerto Montt airport, the starting point for the Carretera Austral. We are 5 minutes from Teatro del Lago, home each summer to the Semanas Musicales (Frutillar Musical Weeks), 25 from Puerto Varas, and a short walk from the German Colonial Museum and from Frutillar Bajo, a protected Zona Típica and part of the cultural heritage of German colonization.

We earned it because sustainability isn't a separate project here — it's part of how Ave Lodge operates. Energy and water efficiency, waste reduction, our own food production, local suppliers, biodiversity conservation, and celebrating our southern Chilean identity. It is our way of working toward regenerative tourism: leaving the lake, the garden and the local community better after every stay.
